Hi,
I have noted that VLC is indifferent to the RPC setting of the drive. I
have a G5 and a G4 iMAC which I have tried it on. I have the following
problems:
1) When I play region 1 disks on the G4 iMac (1.25 Ghz) the movie will
start and play for approx 15 secs then stops dead.
2) When I play a disk regardless of region on the G5 1.8 Mhz it plays
however I have no sound.
On the G5 I have had to play disks of the same region by selecting the
TS_VIDEO folder to make them play. OUt of region disks play with open
disk no problem - however without sound.
I would really appreciate hearing from anybody who has overcome the
problems or experienced them for themselves. I am happy to test new
versions or software as it becomes available. I use the iMAC G4 to play
videos for my kids and working on expatriate circuit for so long I have
a variety of disks that are region 1,2,4 and all regions.
