VLC already  has support fo  MPEG4. However, you  can add support  for a
codec, using the VLC's own API. (see modules/codec/ for examples).

However,  since  Videolan is  under  GPL,  be  aware  that y  ou  cannot
redistribute it if you link it with a closed source lib.
