[vlc] vlc & webcam

Recently I tried to use vlc-0.6.2 to stream my ibm webcam

the webcam is v4l interface and was tested with xawtv

but the problem happened when I try to use vlc with

vlc -vvv v4l:/dev/video0 ...........(I use transcode)

the message said "chroma selection failed" , and then cant open /dev/video0

can anyone show me some light to this
