Both my drives are RPC2, indeed. That's the main reason I'm trying to play
DVDs with vlc.

As far as I understand, libdvdcss should be able to decrypt a DVD regardless
of the region setting of the drive. Unfortunately, it seems that it doesn't
work with certain drives.
