[vlc] Question on vlc capabilities

Hi all,

I have looked at the documentation for VLC, but I have not figured the
answer to my question.
Would it be possible to view and record streams like for example the
ones at:
http://www.01distribution.it/filmati/web/megliogioventu/clip1.htm

If yes how can I do it?
If no, do you know a product that would allow me to do it?
