[vlc] vlc how to save tv channels

hi,
 
winxp, vlc 0.8.0
 
i would like to use vlc as my standard tv-watching programm, but i dont know
how to save the channels. 
if i open a input device, such as directShow, and get to choosing the tuner
properties, i have the option to set a channel, autotune, ...
is there a possibility to save a channel list and to open it if i restart
vlc?
