[vlc] Re: Problems with Audio

Hello Dr. Klapdor,

iDVD uses the 24bit LPCM format for audio streams, which isn't 
supported by VLC at the moment, since it is rather new and isn't used 
that much. An anonymous forum user reported some time ago, that VLC 
0.5.3, which has been released in April 2003 and is therefore pretty 
outdated, can play these DVDs, but this has not been proved by the 
VideoLAN team. Sorry, but there is currently no way to get such a DVD 
running with the up-to-date release of VLC.
