Yep, I stated that xawtv is fine with additional dmesg/output details on
my 2/20 email.
In fact, if I open up a separate terminal window, and initiate Xawtv,
the sound kicks in via the VLC stream (also heard through speakers on
the device with the vlc/v4l streaming), only the picture on the stream
goes black, as xawtv steals the /dev/video device and I get a Yack,
Error! too.
If there is a way to activate the tvaudio module that turns the sound
on, independant of the vlc (using a command-line tool) that would work.
I suspect there is a way to do this.
