About this last issue. VLC-0.7.2 has a new vout system, that is using
OpenGL to render the video. This is much faster on most devices, but
can rise issue in some cases. You can turn back to the previous behaviour
in the settings->modules->interface->macosx->vout module. Select quartz
here and save the preferences. The sound proble could be related to the
fact that you system is overloaded with the opengl vout.
