First, it is not VLC who sends IGMPv3 messages, but the OS. And if
the OS sees some IGMPv2 messages on the network, it will switch to
IGMPv2 and do the source filtering in its kernel (see the RFC for more
details). So when you do "vlc udp:source at multicast", even if your OS
sends IGMPv2 messages, you will not see in VLC the streams that come
from other sources.
