I am a realtive beginner to vlc.I am attempting:

vlc -vvv --color
v4l:/dev/video:norm=ntsc:frequency=83250:size=320x240:channel=0:adev=/dev/dsp:audio=0
--sout '#transcode{vcodec=DIV3,acodec=mp3}:standard{access=mmsh,mux=asfh,url=192.168.1.187:80}'

( On a Fedora Core 3 )

I can access the video just fine using Windows Media Player, but there
is no sound on the client. The sound actually starts playing on the
server.

I have seen some similar problems in the forum.
Is this a known problem with version 8.1 ?
Should I try a previous version ?
Where do I get a previous version from ?

-Thanks
Steve More
