[vlc] VideoLAN Software

Dear Sir;

I have just down loaded your software and can not get it to play a 
movie in my Lacie external dvd drive.
I am on a Mac using OS 10.3.8 and I am getting an error every time I 
try to select the movie and launch it.

Can you direct me on where to go to get directions on how to play my 
movie?
