[vlc] Problems with GPE interface (segfaults)

I'm running VLC 0.7.1 Bond on an iPAQ h5555 running Familiar v0.8.0 end GPE.
If I run VLC as root all goes well.
If I try to run it as a normal user, it segfaults.
I tried to run the 'rc' interface and the playback is good also as a
normal user.
If I add -vvvv parameter, lhe last lines of the report are as follows:
........
[00000169] main module debug: using gui-helper module "gtk2_main"
[00000166] main module debug: using interface module "pda"
[00000172] main interface debug: interface initialized
[00000172] main interface debug: thread 65541 (manager) created at
priority 0 (src/interface/interface.c:145)
[00000172] pda interface debug: Starting pda GTK2+ interface thread

(:2847): Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkwidget.c: line 5593
(gtk_widget_set_size_request): assertion `width >= -1' failed
[00000172] pda interface debug: Changing to dir .
Segmentation fault
-----
If I run it as root, I see:
......
(:2765): Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkwidget.c: line 5593
(gtk_widget_set_size_request): assertion `width >= -1' failed
[00000172] pda interface debug: Changing to dir .
[00000172] pda interface debug: Manage GTK keyboard events using threads
----
and then the interface pops up.
Is this a bug or only a problem with permissions?
There is some permission I must grant (on devices or files) to work
around this problem?
Thank you
	Stefano Salvi
