Perhaps we should add this notice in VLC so user is not lost...
Something like:

[user at localhost:~] vlc --extraintf sap
VLC media player 0.8.3 Janus
[00004212] main interface warning: sap is now a Service Discovery module
[00004212] main interface warning: changing .vlcrc to move sap module
OR
[00004212] main interface warning: please use -S sap instead
...
This could avoid reseting vlcrc when switching from older versions
(especially for ecp)...
