[This may be of interest to VLC users, because VLC is an excellent media
player client for viewing streams from this server application.]

Live Networks, Inc. (LIVE.COM) and WIS Technologies are pleased to announce
the availability of "wis-streamer" - an open source, standards-compliant
RTSP/RTP server application that streams encoded video and audio from the
Linux WIS GO7007 driver. This driver supports several low-cost,
off-the-shelf hardware video encoder devices, including:
	- Plextor ConvertX M402U and TV402U
	- NorthQ NQ6600
	- Georgia Technologies GA-VD207

The "wis-streamer" application can stream video in MPEG-4 (default),
MPEG-1, MPEG-2 or motion-JPEG format, and can stream audio in raw PCM, or
8-bit u-law format. The resulting stream can be viewed by
standards-compliant RTSP/RTP media player clients, such as VLC and
QuickTime Player.
