[vlc] Detected packet loss problem

I'm trying to record a NPR stream -
mms://216.35.221.84/waitwait/20050702_waitwait.wma - but when I run
VLC, all I get in the Messages area is a bunch of errors about packet
loss.  The stream plays fine in Windows Media Player, does anyone have
a solution?
