[vlc] Questions, Software Patents

Hello,

I am a user of VideoLAN, as well as many other open-source software
projects that will suffer greatly due to EU software patent issue. I
have read the notice on your website and many others but am unable to
help because I do not live in Europe. I live in Canada. Is there
anything that someone outside of Europe can do to help in this
struggle against software patents?
