[vlc] Ho di I make VLC use the ALSA PCM device for volume control?

Hi all!

I use vlc 0.8.1 and I find it a little off that my vlc uses its own
"device" for volume control (some kind of software mixer). How can I
make VLC use the ALSA PCM device for that?
