[vlc] Stream a Windows desktop?

Hi all,

Is it possible to use VLC (or the server) to stream out a Windows 
"desktop" to, for example, to deliver a live presentation?   I would 
like to use multicasting if possible.  I looked in the docs/faqs but 
couldn't find anything.  Sorry if this is the wrong list.  Thanks!
