Hello,

It won't be feasible to transcode the whole transponder at once, it
would require tremendous power.

What you will probably want is to have a lightweight frontend server
that has the card and receives the DVB stream. This server will use the
duplicate module to split the stream and send the elementary TS streams
to a park of transcoding machines. These machines will do the grunt work
of transcoding each stream.

I think a high-end machine can transcode 3 or 4 streams.
