Hello, all ...

I'm trying to use the rc-host control interface to control VLC from a
remote box via telnet. This is what i'm doing:

PugsleyButt:/Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS jmzorko$ ./VLC
-verbose --intf dummy -I --rc-host localhost:8123 ~/Preview1673169.trp
[00000001] main vlc error: option rt-offset does not exist

No accelerated IMDCT transform found
^Csignal 2 received, terminating vlc - do it again in case it gets stuck
[00000267] main input error: refcount is 1, I have a bad feeling about
this
[00000267] main input error: we waited too long, cancelling destruction

I also tried --rc-host (without the -I before it), and -I rc-host, but
so far i've not been able to get this to work. Has anyone else managed
to do it? I'm using 0.8.2 I believe, on Mac OSX Panther (fairly
obvious I think <smile>). I've tried the HTTP interface and that
indeed works, but telnet would be so much simpler (the idea is to have
another app on a remote box control VLC when certain events happen).

Regards,

John
