Mine is customed compiled. Doesn't seem to work. If you have those
Debian Sid People's contacts or uRLS, would be appreciated.

Gentoo is a source compile distro. we don't distribute anything. :-)

Yes. But I'm hoping to have an All-in-One and 'eat my cake too' kind of
solution for a Media Center. Currently, I have xine and mplayer working
fine but what irks me is that I can't do left/right audio switching
on-the-fly much like a <USD20 VCD Player can.

It's cramping my American-Idol-Karaoke-Wanna-Be ;-)
