[vlc] no audio

within the last week vlc has stopped playing the audio from .bin  
files. before that .bin files were playing fine with full  
functionality. I was using 0.84 so I reverted to 0.82 and still have  
no audio being played from .bin files. avi files are functioning  
normally.

any ideas? has anybody else experienced this problem?
