I noticed that there's an update to vlc , from my actual 0.8.2 to ->
0.8.4-0.lvn.3.a.4 livna-stable
I did it, but vlc still freezes as soon as I try to read SAP
annoucements :-(

I have no more error messages in the terminal, but here's what an strace
on vlc pid shows :
$ ps auwx | grep vlc
root 4267 1.4 2.1 112220 21664 pts/1 Sl+ 09:44 0:01 vlc -v
$ strace -p 4267
Process 4267 attached - interrupt to quit
futex(0xa296328, FUTEX_WAIT, 2, NULL

then starting $strace vlc and openning play-list -> manage -> service
discovery -> SAP annoncements ends with :

gettimeofday({1140166401, 223321}, NULL) = 0
poll([{fd=4, events=POLLIN}, {fd=6, events=POLLIN}], 2, 0) = 0
write(6, "\2\30\4\0\t\1`\3\0@\0\0\7\0`\3\2\3\4\0\3\1`\3\0@\0\0\7"...,
1156) = 1156
ioctl(6, FIONREAD, [0]) = 0
gettimeofday({1140166401, 226553}, NULL) = 0
futex(0x85d52a0, FUTEX_WAKE, 1) = 1
poll([{fd=4, events=POLLIN}, {fd=6, events=POLLIN}], 2, 0) = 0
futex(0x8585bc0, FUTEX_WAIT, 2, NULL

Can it help debugging ? what is the problem ? is VLC capable of reading
mbone SAP annoncements ?
Thanks.
