To follow up on Greg's question:

The (now anachronistically named) "livedotcom.cpp" recognizes
"audio/MP4A-LATM" AAC/RTP streams, and tags such streams with the
'mp4a' fourcc - just the same as "audio/MPEG4-GENERIC" (i.e.,
non-LATM) AAC/RTP streams.

In other words, the RTSP/RTP libraries and interface code recognizes
and handles this type of stream, but it's possible that the decoding
library ("faad"?) does not.

So, a question for the "faad" (audiocoding.com) people: Can your
decoding library handle LATM-formatted AAC audio? If so, does
anything special need to be done to make this work?
