[vlc] Re: Reduce bit rate to be as low as possible

I bumped into a really cool tool called mencoder. Use mencoder to reduce the
scale and bitrate as well as optimize your video too, then hand it over to
vlc. That way vlc has less bits to process (transcoding to do).
