For now, you're best using:
http://download.videolan.org/pub/testing/win32/contrib-20051213-win32-bin-gc
c3.3.1-only.tar.bz2

You will need to include --disable-mkv if you use that package with the
3.4.4 compiler.

The 3.4.4 contrib set is purely test as of now -- recommend not using it.

As to versions of gcc, you should be able to download an earlier one using
the Cygwin setup app. If you do, you won't need the --disable-mkv switch.

Hi,

About the contrib-20060113-win32-bin-gcc-3.4.4-only.tar.tar file, can I
confirm if the version of the gcc must be the same as contrib file.

The reason why I had taken this version is because the versions available
from cygwin download is either 3.3.3 or 3.3.4 and gcc3.3.1 cannot be found
from the setup of cygwin.

Regarding the automake, thanks for the information. I will download and
install it. Probably, I left out this tools during my installation.

Thanks.
Derrick

May i ask where you found it. basically this package is not yet perfect and
i thought i moved it to a test directory.

That's not a library it's a tool. you should install it from cygwin.
