That's probably because you are behind a firewall, and are streaming
RTP-over-TCP.
Unfortunately version 2006.03.03 of the "LIVE555 Streaming Media"
libraries - which this version of VLC uses - has a bug that prevents
RTP-over-TCP from working properly.
This bug is fixed in the latest version (2006.03.17) of the LIVE555
code, so the next 'test' (or release) version of VLC should use at
least this version of the libraries.
In any case, if you are receiving the stream using normal
RTP-over-UDP streaming, then there should be no problem, and LATM AAC
RTP streams should play OK.
