[vlc] Loop playback of a playlist stops after some cycles

Hello!

I'm using the commandline to play some video files in a loop. (vlc 
--fullscreen --loop playlist.m3u). After some cycles (maybe 4 or 5, I 
can't tell...) the playback is stopped.

Any ideas what I could do to get an "infinite" loop?
(vlc is 0.8.2 on a linux box)
