[vlc] more vod misery

bonjour a tous,

i'm really lost.

my implementation goal is:

1) provide a vod server
2) allow a non-technical person to place dvd's in a directory (via
samba)
3) have vlc know about potentially new dvd's that may have been copied
up
4) view these dvd's with a set top box

(1) testing with Peter GABRIEL's Growing Up DVD

vlc --ttl 12 -vvv --color -I telnet --telnet-password videolan --rtsp-
host\
 172.16.12.10:1234
//this works OK
telnet 172.16.12.10:4212
//successfully telnet in
new gup vod enabled
//ok
setup gup input /var/dvd/gup
//no errors - but with vlc i get a repeating menu screen, so
del all
new gup vod enabled
setup gup input dvdsimple:/var/dvd/gup
//with vlc i get repeating first chapter, no full play list
//if i place the cd in the /dev/cdrom, vlc plays it perfectly (but no
play chapter list)

as examples are worth thousands of words: could someone be kind to post
a large, working vod sample configuration? (lots of syntax and options)
i'm particularly interested in sap announcements ...

merci :-)

charles
