[vlc] Playing dvr-ms files on MacOSX

My apologies if this has been dealt with before but I have searched  
the wiki and the forum and can't find a definitive answer.

It seems that the OSX version of VLC cannot play dvr-ms files. Video  
appears OK but there is no sound. There does not appear to be any  
workaround.

Can anybody confirm this?
