Try putting the --loop before the dvdnav option. (That was an issue i
had on a computer 1 year ago ... due to some weird option parsing bug)

Btw, you won't get good battery results with VLC as it doesn't cache
much data to let the drive spin down (this is still something we need to
work on AFAIK.)
