[vlc] main decoder error

i recently downloaded vlc player on my power mac g4. 
i'm using safari os x 10.4.8.

i'm getting message 757 main decoder error:decoder is
leaking pictures/resetting the heap.

my dvd drive is  lacie external d2 dvd drive.

can you help me?
