[vlc] blank screen as wallpaper with Direct X

Hi There,

I have VLC 0.8.6d installed on Windows XP service pack 2, and have Direct X
9.0c running with ATI Mobility FireGL V5200 ( latest drivers).

>From quite some time I am trying to enable the wallpaper feature of VLC but
to no avail. Whenever I tries to enable it by selecting "Direct X with no
video overlay" I get blank wallpaper with video running inside VLC. If I
select "Direct X" I get blank video even inside the VLC. I've tried
disabling overlay in video settings but again with same results.

Could someone please help me in getting the video running as wallpaper?
