I'm operating an iBookG4 with Mac OS X 10.3.9
I recently (a few moments ago, in fact) downloaded the latest version
of VLC media player which was 0.8.6
My problem is this: I already had VLC installed on my computer, but I
was having problems playing a certain .mkv file. I thought to myself
"well, VLC plays just about everything, and I've never encountered
something it wouldn't play before. . maybe my software is just a
little outdated. I know, I'll try downloading the latest verion."
So, I proceeded to to delete the VLC version I have been using for the
past three years (downloaded November 2004) and install the new
version. Installation went smoothly, everything seemed fine, until I
tried to OPEN VLC. The icon bounced on my toolbar for a few moments
before sending up an error message: "This VLC requires operating
system OS X 10.4 or higher".

I am now, understandably, freaking out. I have oodles of media files
that I can only play with VLC, and I don't want to have to troll the
internet looking for a new codec player that's compatible with my Mac.
I tried searching your forums for information on older models of VLC
that will be compatible with my OS, but whether it wasn't there or I
just couldn't find it I don't know.

So, my question is this: Is there anywhere on your site that I can
downloaded the slightly-less-than-latest form of VLC? I'm now saying
to myself ".mkv's be hanged, I just need my player back!". If
there's anything you can do to help me, I'd appreciate it.

Hoping to hear back as swiftly as possible,
S.C. Lunalis
