[vlc] Metadata does not appear to be read

I create a video file with the command:

mencoder "mf://*.png" -mf fps=25 -ovc xvid -xvidencopts bitrate=800

by-nc-sa":genre="cg animation" -o fluid2-credits.avi

mplayer, naturally, can read it:

AVI file format detected.

Clip info:
 Software: MEncoder 1.0rc1-4.1.1
 Name: Back to Basics - Fluid Simulation

 Copyright: 2007 creative commons by-nc-sa

but in VLC, none of these fields are filled out.

VLC 0.8.6a is the version I'm using.

Should I fill out a bug request?  I thought it might be a feature
request, but you have those fields present already in VLC, so I figure
it's a bug that it doesn't read these.
