This is the output with SMP view:

Cpu0 : 99.3%us, 0.0%sy, 0.0%ni, 0.0%id, 0.0%wa, 0.3%hi, 0.3%si, 0.0%st
Cpu1 : 2.7%us, 2.7%sy, 0.0%ni, 93.7%id, 0.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 1.0%si, 0.0%st

and after a few seconds:

Cpu0 : 4.3%us, 3.0%sy, 0.0%ni, 92.7%id, 0.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 0.0%st
Cpu1 : 98.7%us, 0.0%sy, 0.0%ni, 0.0%id, 0.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 1.3%si, 0.0%st

So the scheduler moves the VLC process to the other CPU occasionally,
but all the
VLC threads always run on the same CPU while the other CPU is idle.

On windows both CPUs are used, probably each thread runs on different CPU.
I'm running 2.6.22.1-27.fc7 kernel.

Regards, Petr
