[vlc] MPEG-2 from DV sources playback and deinterlacing

Hi!

I've noticed that everytime i try to playback some DVD or MPEG-2 files
encoded from DV footages, the deinterlacing is bad when using linear
one. It seems to me that the 2 fields are reversed. Since DV use Bottom
field first (where most of other sources use Top field first), that
could mean that VLC linear deinterlacing filter does not take care of
field order and always use top field first. Since i've always noticed
this problem with DVD or files made with very different softwares
(TMPGEnc, Sonic, Ulead, Adobe, ...) and coming from very different
providers, i'm pretty sure it does not come from an encoding/authoring
problem. In addition, these videos play fine with Windows Media player
(and MPEG-2 codec) or Windvd, Powerdvd...

Does anybody can confirm this problem ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Best regards,

Gerald.
