[vlc] How do I rotate a video I shot vertically?

I do not possess that great a technological base, when I read your FAQ and
user guide it seems very complex and I have not determined how to convert
the display of my video.

is this possible? I basically want to rotate the entire video 90 degrees
clockwise.
