[vlc] Subtitles are not showing in vlc player

Dear Concerned,
                        I have Ts file that contains 5 programs.
program number 3 (DD India) contains subtitles.When I am decoding this stream using professional IRD,it is showing subtitles.
But the same stream when run in VLC player, does not show any subtitlle.
Can you tell me what is the problem?
