Hi,

I've tried several times to download/install VLC Media Player
universal binary for OS X v 0.98a . . . however, it continues to
claim that it is out of date.

The disk image file is "vlc-0.9.8a.dmg" but the VLC.app package
within shows its version to be "VLC media player - version 0.9.8
Grishenko - (c) 1996-2008 the VideoLAN team". It is dated Sunday,
December 7, 2008 7:41 AM.

From within the application, About VLC media player shows "Version
0.9.8 Grishenko (Intel) . . . based on Git commit a684d02678.

Either this is an older version mislabelled, or the internal
versioning information did not get updated, as the built-in version
checking routine continues to claim that it is out of date and an
update should be downloaded.

Regards,
