That's a tough question. I doubt that any of the developpers have 6.1 or
7.1 speakers so the best way to know would be test (I'm sure that 7.1
samples which activate speakers one by one exist somewhere). We'd be
glad to know the result of your testing to see if VLC needs any fixing.
