[vlc] Interface bug on linux: <elapsed time> / <total time> is not displayed properly

Speaking about things one cannot see - this is my VLC window.  It appears 
the same on both 32 and 64 bit installations compiled from source.  Version h.

Please, notice the almost missing volume adjustment bar.
