Hi,
I'm working a bit on trying to get vlc to stream to a streaming server for live
events. We've got several sources transcoding at once from a vlm file, and I
would like to push this to web clients on the open web. Instead of using vlc
as the server the clients hit, I would like to try a bit more "big iron" - like
a flash media server, or something similar (darwin?). I have some flexability
in the choice here.
I was thinking mpeg 4 might be a good bet, as it's supported in the newest flash
(9), and it seems like widespread support will be forthcoming. Of course, the
good encoding support in vlc is key as well!
Has anyone had any experience with this or suggestions on how this should be
done? I was thinking of trying to setup an RTP stream from VLC to something
like darwin, but I'm open to suggestions.
Regards,
Chris
