[vlc] VLC 0.9.2 segfaults on various videos

VLC 0.9.2 compiled and installed from source with no errors.  Configuration
options all default.  AMD FX-62 machine.  RHEL5.

VLC segfaults on various avi and wmv videos that can be played with Xine
with no problems.
