[vlc] converting

dear people,

I have MPEgs that open with Realplayer and Viedeolan, but not with Quicktime or windows media player. They are from a Hitachi Camcorder that takes the small computer discs DZ GX5040E. I want to import them into ADobe Premiere Pro but seem to loose the sound and do not know why.
Can you help??
