[vlc] mac osx 0.9.9a issues

VLC has recently become incredibly slow to load .mkv files, despite
significant memory available.File size appears to have no impact on the time
it takes to load a 90mb mkv is taking the same time (up to a minute) to load
as a 4 gb mkv.
avi, ogg and mp4 still load instantly as they always have but mkv has just
recently developed this issue.

this is running on mac os 10.4, any help would be appreciated as it has
become increasingly annoying.
