I located this rpm somewhere online vlc-0.9.8a-1.el5.rf.i386.rpm and extracted it to my kde desktop. The archive contains a bin folder which contains two executables: vlc and vlc wrapper. Running either program does nothing. Can you point me to an archive which will extract to a folder on my SuSE 10.2 system, please?
Thank you

Hi VLC
I have a copy of the VLC media player installed on my Xp partition, v0.8.6c. It works fine. I use it to play .flv files and to stream from DVD and mms:
The media players distributed with my SuSE 10.2, Kaffeine, Totem and Xine are real dogs.
It dawned on me VLC would be great on my Linux partition, but I discovered with dismay you distribute the program as a Yast procedure for 10.3, and 11.1.
I do not want to upgrade my SuSE installation just to install your program.
Don't you have something in a compressed archive I can simply decompress to a directory on my desktop ard run from there?
Thanks. Keep up the good work.
