[vlc] VLC default

I recently loaded VLC for video viewing on my PC laptop with XP. However it also changed all my music mp3 files to VLC icons. I need to keep my mp3s in Quicktime or Mediaplayer, can't seem to default them from VLC. Can I do something to change my mp3s back to QT?
