[vlc] new version 1.0.3 bug ?

hello,
first i wish to thanks you for your good program...i don't even use it to its full possibiities
just playing flv files but really good one...
i just cherged the latest version...i had the 1.0.2 and all was well for me...
i installed the new version 1.0.3 and reading is good...it works good...unless for one thing :)
it don't recognize the "duration" of the file, so impossible to know how many minutes the file is,
and also impossible to go for example in the middle of the play...it always start again...
maybe i miss something..don't know...i'm still on xp with all updates logically...
thanks to tell me if there is a solution or just then i'll wait the next version, but please, be sure 
this little thing works :)
